To support your child's learning or revise tricky topics, children, parents and teachers can add extra work in topics they'd like to practise a bit more. These are known as an Assignments.

How to add an Assignment in the Learning Zone

Parents and children over the age of twelve can set themselves an Assignment from the Learning Zone in any of the Doodle programmes. To do this:

  1. Log in to Doodle

  2. From the Learning Zone, press the red Add Assignment icon

  3. Type in a topic and follow the in-app instructions; the Assignment will then appear in the Learning Zone

Please note:

  1. Only one Assignment can be set through the app per day (if you would like to add more, please do so via the Parent Dashboard by following the steps below)

  2. It will only be possible to add an Assignment in this way if no other Assignment is currently set.

To set an Assignment for a child under the age of twelve, please enter your parent password after pressing the Add Assignment icon.

How to add an Assignment in the Parent Dashboard

Parents can add Assignments from the Parent Dashboard. To do this:

  1. Log in to the Parent Dashboard

  2. Hover over Assignments and select Set

  3. Toggle between the programme icons to select whether you'd like to set an Assignment in DoodleMaths, DoodleTables, DoodleEnglish and DoodleSpell. Please view this article on how to do this.

  4. Search for a topic or scroll through the relevant AREs (Age Related Expectations or topics they are expected to learn at this age)

  5. Click on the grey arrow to the left of the ARE to break this down further

  6. You can view the questions as they will appear within the app by clicking on Preview - this is great for checking that the Assignment is appropriate for your child

  7. When you are ready to set an Assignment press Add

  8. Select when you'd like the Assignment to appear in their work programme and which children you'd like it to appear for and press Add

  9. The red Assignment will appear in your child's Learning Zone on the specified day

We recommend only adding one Assignment at a time to a child's account.
