Clearing cookies and cache on your laptop or PC

If you're having any problems with the browser versions of our programmes, please try the following troubleshooting tips!

Clearing Cookies and Cache on a Google Chrome browser

  1. On your computer, open Chrome

  2. At the top right, click the three dots

  3. Click More tools

  4. Click Clear browsing data

  5. At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.

  6. Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.

  7. Click Clear data.

Once you've done this, try reloading Doodle. If after doing this, that still doesn't work, you may also need to:

  • Right click on the page (not on the app itself) and select Inspect or Inspect page

  • Right click on the refresh button and then select Empty cache and hard reload


Clearing Cookies and Cache on a Safari browser on a Mac

  1. Click on the Safari tab at the top left of your screen and choose Preferences... from the dropdown menu

  2. Click the Advanced tab of the menu that pops up.

  3. At the bottom of the tab, select the Show Develop menu in menu bar box and close the Preferences menu

  4. Click the Develop tab from the Safari menu at the top of the page

  5. Click Empty Caches from the dropdown menu

  6. To clear Cookies, click on the Safari tab at the top left of your screen and choose Preferences... from the dropdown menu

  7. Select Privacy along the top and click on Manage Website Data...

  8. Then click on Remove all followed by Done

  9. Once you've done this, refresh the page and try reloading Doodle again


Clearing history on Safari on a Mac

  1. Choose the History tab at the top of your screen.

  2. At the very bottom of the dropdown menu, choose Clear History

    A box pops up with a choice to clear the last hour, today, today and yesterday, or all history. Choose your time frame and click the Clear History button.


Removing active Extensions and Ad Blockers on Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome

  2. At the top right, click the three dots

  3. Click More tools

  4. Click on Extensions

  5. We recommend removing any Active Extensions or Ad Blockers to see if this makes a difference to Doodle's running performance

  6. Once you've done this, refresh the page and try reloading Doodle again


Removing active Extensions and Ad Blockers on Safari

  1. Click on the Safari tab at the top left of your screen and choose Preferences... from the dropdown menu

  2. Select Extensions along the top

  3. If you have any active extensions they will be shown here

  4. We recommend removing any Active Extensions or Ad Blockers to see if this makes a difference to Doodle's running performance

  5. Once you've done this, refresh the page and try reloading Doodle again
