Everything you need to know about the Spring Challenge 2025!

Between the 1st April and the 30th April, we invite learners to join one or both of our exciting Spring Challenges β€” the DoodleMaths Challenge and the DoodleEnglish Challenge!

Designed to encourage a few minutes of daily Doodling, the Spring Challenge promotes healthy learning habits and builds each child’s confidence, helping to ignite their love of learning.

Most excitingly, they can earn a FREE in-app badge, a real-life pin badge and an exclusive downloadable certificate, available for download from the Parent Dashboard, to celebrate their hard work!

The challenges will run from Tuesday 1st April to Wednesday 30th April. The last day to start the challenges will be on Thursday 24th April (as one requirement is 7 active Doodling days).

Children need to earn 450 stars (or 350 stars if they were born after August 2017) and use DoodleMaths and/or DoodleEnglish for 7 days* between the 1st - 30th April. You can keep track of their progress by downloading our free tracker sheet.

*These days do not need to be in a row, so your child can use Doodle whenever they'd like throughout the month of April. A day of use is counted as completing at least one exercise (an x-a-day, Power-up, Tricky, Assignment or baseline assessment exercise) between 00:01 and 23:59.

Children with school subscriptions or home subscriptions in DoodleMaths and/ or DoodleEnglish can take part. To take part, parents just need to register their child in the challenge.

Please note: if you don't have a school subscription or UK home subscription, your child will receive a virtual badge and a printable certificate upon completion of the Challenge, but not a pin badge in the post. Please see our T&Cs for more info.

Register for the Challenge - you'll be able to register from 1st April!

As parents you need to (and you must do this when your child starts the challenge) register your child/children in the challenge through the Parent Dashboard and enter or confirm their address. To do this:

  1. On the homepage of the Dashboard, you will see a Spring Challenge tile with your child/children's names. You need to click on the 'Register' link next to your child's name.

    3. Next you'll need to confirm your home mailing address.

    4. You'll receive a confirmation email and two progress bars will appear (one for star count and another for number of active Doodling days count). Hover over this bar to see a running tally of Doodling days and stars goals throughout the challenge.

    5. Be sure to register for BOTH challenges if your child would like to take part in both the DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish Spring Challenge.

    6. If you have more than one child linked to your account, be sure to register ALL children who would like to take part.

*If your child has a school account, please ensure you have linked your parent email to the account first! For instructions on how to do this please see this article.

*If you child has a school account, it will not be necessary to enter or confirm your home mailing address after registration as your child's pin badge/s will be sent to their school at the close of the Challenge.

Toggling in-app Challenge messaging on or off

New to this Challenge, it is now possible for parents to hide Challenge messaging if they'd prefer their child not see it. This is useful if your child is finding the messaging stressful or if your child has started the Challenge but no longer wants to take part.

To use this feature, in DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish, go to Settings and toggle Spring/Summer Challenge Messages on or off.

* Please note this toggle will only turn off messaging in app, not in the Parent Dashboard.

Downloading your child's certificate

Once your child has reached their Challenge goal, you can download their certificate straight away. To do this click on the Download certificate button.

All parents, whether they have a home or school account, are able to download their child's certificate/s. Parents will have until midnight on 23rd of May to download their child's certificate/s.

Parents do not need to claim their child's pin badges for this Challenge. Pin badges will be sent out automatically to their home or school with the Challenge is completed.

*If your child has a school subscription, their pin badge reward will be sent to their school once the Challenge has come to an end.

Children will also receive an in app badge as soon as they complete the challenge! This can be viewed in their app by tapping on the arrow in the top left hand corner of their screen, selecting Badges and toggling to Challenges. During the challenge, children will see a progress bar to see how far they are from completing the challenge requirements. Once the challenge has been completed the badge will appear in full colour.

Although there is no requirement for this, we love to see what you've been getting up to! Let us know how you're getting on by using the hashtag #DoodleMathsChallenge or #DoodleEnglishChallenge on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!

For more information, please see our Spring Challenge webpage, our Spring Challenge FAQs, or reach out to our customer success team who are available to contact via the green chat bubble in the bottom right hand corner of our website or the Parent Dashboard.

Happy Doodling!
