Between the 1st July and the 31st August, we invite learners to join one or both of our Summer Challenges - the DoodleMaths Challenge and the DoodleEnglish Challenge!
Designed to encourage a few minutes of daily Doodling, the Summer Challenge promotes healthy learning habits and builds each child’s confidence, helping to spark their love of learning.
Most excitingly, all those who complete the challenge will earn FREE in-app badges, a real-life pin badge and an exclusive downloadable certificate to celebrate their hard work!
The challenges will run from Tuesday 1st July to Sunday 31st August. The last day to start the challenges will be on Monday 18th August (as one requirement is Doodling for 14 days).
Children need to earn 750 stars (or 600 stars if they were born after August 2017) and use DoodleMaths and /or DoodleEnglish for 14 days* between the 1st of July-31st of August. You can keep track of their progress by downloading our free tracker sheet.
*These 14 days don’t need to be in a row. A day of use is defined as completing at least one exercise between 0:01 and 23:59. In addition the stars do not need to be earned solely in these fourteen days, children can earn their stars from 1st July-31st August.
Children with a school subscription or home subscription in DoodleMaths and/ or DoodleEnglish can take part. To take part, parents just need to enter their child in the challenge.
Enter the Challenge - you'll be able to do this from 1st July!
As parents you need to (and you must do this when your child starts the challenge) register your child/children in the challenge through the Parent Dashboard. To do this:
Login the Parent Dashboard
On the homepage of the Dashboard, you will see a Summer Challenge tile with your child/children's names. You need to click on the Register link next to your child's name.
3. Next you'll need to confirm your home mailing address.
4. You'll receive a confirmation email and two progress bars will appear (one for star count and another for number of active Doodling days count). Hover over this bar to see a running tally of Doodling days and stars goals throughout the challenge.
5. Be sure to register for BOTH challenges if your child would like to take part in both the DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish Summer Challenge.
6. If you have more than one child linked to your account, be sure to register ALL children who would like to take part.
*If your child has a school account, please ensure you have linked your parent email to the account first! For instructions on how to do this please see this article.
*If you child has a school account, it will not be necessary to enter or confirm your home mailing address after registration as your child's pin badge/s will be sent to their school at the close of the Challenge.
Tracking progress
You can see how your child is getting on, by viewing the progress bars in Parent Dashboard and your child will be able to see the progress bars in their app, so that they can keep track too!
As children progress through the Challenge they will be rewarded with two virtual badges to celebrate the progress that they are making and encouraging them to keep going!
Downloading your child's certificate
Once your child has reached their Challenge goal, you can download their certificate straight away. To do this click on the Download certificate button.
All parents, whether they have a home or school account, are able to download their child's certificate/s. Parents will have until midnight on 26th of September to download their child's certificate/s.
Parents do not need to claim their child's pin badges for this Challenge. Pin badges will be sent out automatically to their home or school with the Challenge is completed.
*All those with school subscriptions and only UK-based participants with home subscriptions will receive a Product-specific pin badge. If your child has a school subscription, their pin badge reward will be sent to their school once the Challenge has come to an end.
Viewing the Virtual Badges
Children will receive an two in app badges to celebrate their progress and one when they complete the challenge! This can be viewed in their app by tapping on the arrow in the top left hand corner of their screen, selecting Badges and toggling to Challenges. During the challenge, children will see a progress bar to see how far they are from completing the challenge requirements. Once the challenge has been completed the badge will appear in full colour.
Although there is no requirement for this, we love to see what you've been getting up to! Let us know how you're getting on by using the hashtag #DoodleMathsChallenge or #DoodleEnglishChallenge on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!
