If your child is finding the questions in Doodle too easy or too tricky, you may need to do a reassessment (previously known as recalibration).
Baseline assessment will analyse your child's strengths and weaknesses to ensure that the work it set is at the right level for them.
All of your child's progress will be saved when selecting this option.
To put the account into baseline assessment mode through the app:
Log in to any of the Doodle programmes
From the Learning Zone, click on the arrow icon in the top left-hand corner and select Settings
Press on Work programme
Under Mode, press Recalibrate?
To put the account into baseline assessment mode through the Parent Dashboard:
Login to the Parent Dashboard
Hover over Analyse and select Understanding
Select your child's name down the left hand side and then click on the blue Start new baseline assessment button underneath
Encourage your child to work independently during the baseline assessment, even if they find things a little challenging — this is simply Doodle’s way of working out their strengths and weaknesses. Receiving help at this stage may cause their work to be incorrectly assessed, leading to the programme becoming too challenging.
You may find that your child's DoodleAge goes down, this will happen if the algorithm feels that your child needs to consolidate their learning on a few topics to ensure that those areas are fully embedded before moving them on to new learning, resulting in a stronger foundation for them to build their learning upon.
