We're thrilled to announce our DoodleEnglish refresh!

Our team have been hard at work levelling up DoodleEnglish to have a greater focus on consolidation and boosting mastery in English.

What can you expect to see in the updated DoodleEnglish?

πŸ“š New grammar & punctuation concepts from Year 1 to Year 6

We've doubled the number of concepts available to your students across KS1 and KS2! Adding additional concepts into each Age Related Expectation (ARE) topic gives them plenty of opportunities to master content across the English National Curriculum.

πŸ’» NEW interactivity

We know children learn best by 'doing'. They'll find brand-new interactions through DoodleEnglish, like joining prefixes and suffixes and multiple-choice tables to aid consolidation through practical application and make the programme even more fun!

πŸ’¬ NEW glossary

We've created an interactive glossary within DoodleEnglish! Your students can simply click on a word they're not sure of to reveal a short definition that uses age-appropriate vocabulary.

πŸ—£οΈ Enhanced text-to-speech (TTS) functionality

To help make DoodleEnglish even more accessible to users, we've improved our TTS functionality within DoodleEnglish so that your students have more options to have the lesson and questions read out to them.

What do we need to do to access the new content?

  1. From 1st May UPDATE your DoodleEnglish apps to version 3.6.0. Do this on ALL of your school devices to avoid any disruption to their learning. Let parents know that they need to update DoodleEnglish on all devices their child(ren) use DoodleEnglish on at home too. You can direct them to this help centre article specifically for parents.

If you use the browser version of DoodleEnglish on a PC/laptop then no need to do anything with the updates - it will happen automatically. You just need to set the baseline as in point 2.

πŸ’‘ We recommend setting automatic updates on your devices so that you'll always stay up to date with our latest app versions. To find out how to do this please see here.

  2. Between 21st May - 1st June set a NEW baseline assessment in DoodleEnglish. All children should complete a new DoodleEnglish baseline assessment to help place them in the programme. They'll also be able to access DoodleEnglish's brand-new content as soon as they're done!

Any students who haven't completed a baseline assessment by 2nd June will automatically be put into a baseline assessment - they must complete this to access DoodleEnglish's new features!

πŸ’‘To avoid any surprises, we recommend scheduling in some time between 19th May and 1st June for students to complete a DoodleEnglish Baseline Assessment.

To start a new baseline assessment for your students please follow these steps.

Check out our teacher webinar which covers everything you need to know about our very exciting DoodleEnglish refresh (including a sneak peak at the new content!
