For sums that involve exchanging and carrying, you can either click or tap on the pencil icon to annotate the sum (there is an eraser too if you make a mistake). Or you can use tap or click on the number in the sum and then select the exchange and carry buttons on the number pad to annotate the sum this way.

You can start the sum again by clicking or tapping on the reset button. Or you can adjust an answer in one of the boxes by clicking or tapping on that box, then selecting del in the number pad and then clicking or tapping on the number you would like.

Don't forget to click on the 'done' tile when you are confident with your answer.

Then add weights onto the scales by holding your finger or cursor down. Add or remove items and weights until the scales balance. Some scales questions are also followed by a multiple choice question.
