What Are Badges?

Doodle badges are bright, colourful rewards designed to celebrate children’s progress and keep them motivated. They’re automatically awarded for reaching key milestones—like achieving a spectacular streak or setting a new high score in a game.

Alongside stars and streaks, badges recognise effort and determination, helping to build confidence in every learner. Because they’re based on progress and consistency, all children can earn them—regardless of ability.

Badges are designed to be unlocked at regular intervals, encouraging children to use Doodle ‘little and often’ as they work towards achievable goals. With over 100 badges to collect, there’s always something new to aim for, keeping learning fresh and exciting.

Children can view all the badges they’ve earned, as well as their progress toward new ones, at any time—helping them reflect on how far they’ve come and feel proud of their achievements.

How to access badges?

Children can access their badges in all four Doodle programmes by tapping the Menu in the top left-hand corner of the Learning Zone, then selecting Badges from the list.

The badges page will always be unlocked.

Badges are grouped into eight fun and motivating categories:

  1. Stars – Earned by collecting stars through learning activities

  2. My Journey – Celebrating key milestones in your Doodle experience

  3. My Robot – Linked to customising avatars and unlocking new items

  4. Streak – Awarded for maintaining consistent daily learning

  5. Games – Earned through achievements in Doodle’s educational games

  6. Learning Zone – Based on progress made in core learning activities

  7. Quests – Given for completing special learning competitions

  8. Challenge - Awarded for taking part in our season Challenges

Tap or click on any of the eight category headings at the top of the page to view the badges within that group.

Children will receive visual feedback on their progress toward earning each badge through a dynamic progress bar.

When switching between badge categories, the corresponding progress bars load automatically, giving children an immediate sense of how far they've come. Badges that are currently in progress are displayed with reduced opacity, helping to visually distinguish them from completed or locked badges.

Just click or tap a badge to learn more about what it takes to earn it!

Notifications

Whenever a child earns a new badge, you'll be notified through the Notifications section of your Parent or Teacher Dashboard.

Parents will also receive a celebratory email, so you never miss a moment of their achievement!

Secret Files

Children can see what badges their peers/siblings have earned though Secret Files.
