What we have done to make Doodle accessible to all users

As an education company founded by two teachers, we take accessibility extremely seriously. We continually strive to make our product accessible to all users.

We are able to do this through the adaptive nature of our learning applications: our proprietary algorithms continually adjust each individual child’s work program to their ability level, ensuring that questions are not too difficult – or too easy – for each child.

Beyond this, we have built a number of features to improve accessibility, these include:

  • Question screens and help screens that are purposefully designed to be clean and free of movement, clutter or excessive colour

  • Font sizes that adjust automatically to always display at maximum size

  • Text-to-speech technology – we use the latest technology to ensure questions and explanations can be read aloud in a natural-sounding voice

  • Coloured overlays that can be chosen for question screens which help some visually impaired children, or those with dyslexia, or Irlen syndrome, for example.

You can also find further details about how we support children with SEN here.

Whilst we have made some good progress to make our product more accessible, we also recognise that this is a ongoing journey. We are continually improving our product and welcome any suggestions our customers may have to make it more accessible.

💡 Need more help? Feel free to contact our lovely customer support team by using the chat bubble in the bottom right corner of the screen, they will be happy to help!
