Between the 1st April and the 30th April, we invite learners to join one or both of our exciting bird-themed Spring Challenges — the DoodleMaths Challenge and the DoodleEnglish Challenge!
Designed to encourage a few minutes of daily Doodling, the Spring Challenge promotes healthy learning habits and builds each child’s confidence, helping to ignite their love of learning.
Most excitingly, all those who take part will earn a FREE in-app badge, a real-life pin badge and an exclusive downloadable certificate, available for download from the Parent Dashboard, to celebrate their hard work!
The challenges will run from Friday 1st April to Saturday 30th April. The last day to start the challenges will be on Monday 24th April (as one requirement is a 7 day streak).
Children need to earn 450 stars (or 350 stars if they were born on or after 01/09/16) and achieve a 7-day streak during the Spring Challenge period. You can keep track of their progress by downloading our free tracker sheet.
Children with school subscriptions or home subscriptions in DoodleMaths and/ or DoodleEnglish can take part. To take part, parents just need to register their child in the challenge and then, once completed, claim their child's reward.
Register for the Challenge - you'll be able to register from 1st April!
As parents you need to (and you must do this when your child starts the challenge) register your child/children in the challenge through the Parent Dashboard. To do this:
Login the Parent Dashboard
On the homepage of the Dashboard, you will see a Spring Challenge tile with your child/children's names. You need to click on the 'Register' link next to your child's name.
By clicking on this, your child will have been registered in the Challenge. You'll receive a confirmation email and two progress bars will appear (one for star count and another for streak count). Hover over this bar to see a running tally of streak and stars goals throughout the challenge.
Be sure to register for BOTH challenges if your child would like to take part in both the DoodleMaths and DoodleEnglish Spring Challenge.
If you have more than one child linked to your account, be sure to register ALL children who would like to take part.
*If your child has a school account, please ensure you have linked your parent email to the account first! For instructions on how to do this please see this article.
Claim your child's reward
Once your child has completed the Challenge by achieving their streak and target stars, you can claim your child's reward. To do this:
Login to the Parent Dashboard and press 'Claim reward' next to your child's name. Be sure to do this for both Challenges and for all children! If your child has a home subscription, their reward will be sent to their home address. If your child has a school subscription, their reward will be sent directly to school*.
If you have a home subscription you will be able to download their certificate straight away. To do this click on the Download certificate button.
If your child has a school subscription, the teacher will be able to download the certificate from their Teacher Dashboard straight away.
*If your child has a school subscription, their reward will be sent to their school once the Challenge has come to an end.
Children will also receive an in app badge as soon as they complete the challenge! This can be viewed in their app by tapping on the arrow in the top left hand corner of their screen, selecting Badges and toggling to Challenges. During the challenge, children will see a progress bar to see how far they are from completing the challenge requirements. Once the challenge has been completed the badge will appear in full colour.
