1.) Leaving
When a student or students leave the school you should archive them. To do this log in to the Teacher Dashboard and follow the below steps.
To archive a whole class at once:
Head to Manage > Students
Select the class from the drop down menu under Class
Then tick the box at the top of the class list and a tick will appear next to all students' names
Then select Archive from the Select action menu above followed by Confirm
To archive individual students:
Search the student's name in the Student search box on the right hand side
Tick the box next to their name
From the Select action drop down menu above select Archive followed by Confirm
2.) Moving
When children move classes or year groups, you have three options.
1. If the students in the class are staying the same for the year ahead then you can simply edit the name of the class
Log in to the Teacher Dashboard and go to Manage > classes
Make sure you’ve deleted the classes leaving (following steps above)
Click on the pencil icon in the edit column which will open an edit box and then here you can change the Name and Year details to the new year group
Be sure to press Save once you've done this
You can then create any new classes as needed following the steps in this link.
2. If the children are mixing classes then pupils can edit the class themselves
Log in to the Teacher Dashboard and go to Manage > classes
Find your class and then locate the class code on the right hand side
Ask each student to visit Doodle and when they go to login select I have a class code from school
They then need to select My child already has an account and then enter the class code you provided.

3. If the children are mixing classes then teachers can edit the child's class
Please note - you must have first archived your school leavers before you do this!
Log in to the Teacher Dashboard
Create new classes under Manage > Classes, making sure it’s clear these are new classes in the name (e.g. Year 5 2023-2024)
Go to Manage > Students and select the first class to begin moving your students. Tick next to the students that you would like to move into the new class.
From Actions, select Add to another class followed by Confirm
Choose the class or classes that you would like them to be in and select Add
Repeat for each class until all of the students are in their new classes
This should then mean all of the old classes are empty and can be deleted. Go to Manage > Classes and tick the box next to the class name and click on Delete
