To turn the voice/ sound on please follow these steps πŸ‘‡

  1. Log into the Doodle app

  2. Select the menu by tapping on the arrow on the left hand side

  3. Tap Settings

  4. Check that the Text-to-speech is on(this will ensure that the questions are read out to your child)

  5. Check that Sound is toggled to on (this will ensure that you can hear background sounds, such a stars being collected)

Please note - It will only be possible to hear audio if the apps are online.

Troubleshooting

What to do if you still can't hear sound?

Make sure your device is not on mute!

It may seem silly to say it but in order for sound to work on our apps, you need to have the volume turned up and the device off mute.

If you are still having problems please run through these tips πŸ‘‡

  • Try opening the control panel whilst in the Doodle App, by swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen. Then please check the volume levels and bell/mute symbol.

  • Check that there is not a speaker/headphone connected on Bluetooth

  • Try testing out if you can hear sounds with headphones on.

If yes, this sounds like it isn't a problem with the app itself: it's likely just using a different sound category to other apps.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5456508 lists a few fixes for users with similar issues - please try going into Settings > Sounds and decreasing, then increasing the sound of each type of sound.

  • Check 'Do not disturb' on the device is not on.

Please also see a few troubleshooting tips below for different devices. πŸ‘‡

Apple devices

  • If using an Apple device, please ensure that the device is off mute and also that the volume is turned up.

  • On Apple devices please open the sound control panel whilst in the Doodle App by swiping upwards from the bottom of the screen (for iPhone SE, iPhone 9 and earlier), or swiping down from the top-right corner of your screen (for iPhone X and later). Then please check the volume levels here.

Android devices

  • On Android devices, the Media Volume and Ringer Volume will also need to be turned up.

  • On Android phones, you will need to ensure that when you turn the volume up you click on the little cog before it disappears allowing you to change the Ringer Volume (this also needs to be turned up)

  • On Android tablets, you will also need to ensure that when you go to the Sound Settings on your device that Media Volume, Alarm volume and Notification Volume are all turned up

The two videos below might help:

Amazon devices

  • The volume controls are on the outside of the device - please ensure the volume is turned up

  • To access your media volume settings on your device, please tap the cog in the upper right-hand corner or pull down from the top. Please navigate to Sound. Ensure that Media Volume, Call Volume, Alarm Volume and Notification Volume are all turned up.
