1. School set up on the Teacher Dashboard

Get your school set up in no time by following the guides below!

The first thing you'll need to do is to create your classes.

If you have a Bundle subscription, you can clone your maths class as an English class (or vice versa) by using the Clone option. More information on how to clone a class can be found here.

Next add your student accounts.

Finally, create teacher accounts!

Once you've done this you're ready to begin!

2. Technical set up

Whitelisting

In order to be able to use Doodle within your school, Doodle and all of its sub-domains need to be whitelisted. It may be that your IT contact needs to do this, so please check with them. Full information on whitelisting and what needs to be whitelisted can be found here.

Downloading apps

For any touchscreen devices, our apps can be downloaded from the various stores or through our website. We update our apps regularly to ensure optimum performance for our users. Our latest app versions can be found here along with details of the minimum device operating systems required here.

We highly recommend enabling automatic app updates on your devices to ensure you're always up to date and don't need to manually update the apps. Again, it may be that your IT contact in the school needs to do this, so check with them!

If your students are using PCs, Chrome books or laptops, you cannot download the apps but should instead use our browser versions (which perform with the same functionality as our apps) via the links below (we recommend using a Chrome or Edge browser):

Why not ask your IT contact in the school to bookmark these links for all devices in the school so that your students can easily access Doodle.

🌟 Troubleshooting tips 🌟

  • If the internet speed in your school is slightly slower, we recommend not logging in a whole class at the same time. Try staggering the login process to speed things up!

  • If your students are Doodling but there is no sound be sure to check their sound settings within the app

  • If you're seeing a runtime error message, follow the steps here

  • If your students are Doodling but you're not seeing their work on your Teacher Dashboard, check the username they are using matches the one you have and also check their work is syncing to the server by following these steps!

  • Has your student lost their streak through no fault of their own? No problem, you can reinstate it by following these steps!

3. Getting started

Logging into apps

Your students are now ready to login to the apps! πŸŽ‰

  1. If you have chosen to download the usernames and passwords for them they can login with these details simply by tapping Login > Student and then entering their username and password

  2. If you are asking them to login using the class code method please ask them to open the app and select 'I have a class code from school'. They can then create a new account by selecting 'I want to create an account for my child' or link one by selecting 'My child already has an account' if they are already Doodle users. More information on how to do this can be found here.

Baseline Assessment

The first thing your students will need to complete is a baseline assessment. It is really important that this is a true reflection of the student as this is what is going to determine their individualised work programme. More information on baseline assessments can be found here. Please note, the baseline assessment doesn't have to be completed all in one go.

Launching with students/parents

We have a range of resources to help you launch Doodle in your school. From letters to send out to parents to a pupil launch presentation with accompanying script for you to use in an assembly - everything you need to kickstart Doodle in your school can be found here!

Here you'll find videos that you can share with the teachers at your school to watch with their students which explains everything they need to know about Doodle!

Help/Support

We have a whole host of support materials on hand to help you!

  1. Our Help Centre - the Help Centre is your 'go-to' place for anything Doodle related. Here, you'll find a bank of support articles which include 'how to' videos to guide you through the steps.

  2. Our 'How to' tours - on the Teacher Dashboard we have created guided tours for each page, explaining the key features on each of these pages. You can return to and watch these at any time simply by clicking on the green 'How to' button in the top left hand corner of the page.

  3. Chat to the team - reach out to your school contact who will be happy to help you with any questions you may have

  4. Parent support - Our team are also on hand to help parents so you don't have to, so please direct parents to the green chat bubble on our website or via their Parent Dashboard and we will be more than happy to help!

🌟 Once you're all set up and you're students have started using Doodle why not try...

  • Navigating to Work programmes on your Teacher Dashboard so you can view your students' effort, progress and understanding in Doodle

  • Setting an Assignment to address any misconceptions in your students' learning

  • Celebrating your students' achievements πŸŽ‰ (will link to an article here, just creating!!)
