Welcome to Doodle - we're thrilled to have you on board!

Get your child(ren) set up in no time by following the guides below.

1. Creating your account

The first thing you'll need to do is create your parent account. This can be done in just a few simple steps. If you encounter any difficulties with this step, help can be found here.

Next add your child account(s).

Finally, choose a subscription! We offer various subscription options so be sure to check these out before selecting your plan. If you have more than one child Doodling at home, our Family plan will be your most cost-effective option. More information on our subscriptions can be found here.

Once you've done this, you're ready to begin!

2. Technical set up

Downloading apps

For any touchscreen devices, our apps can be downloaded from the various stores or through our website. We update our apps regularly to ensure optimum performance for our Doodlers.

We recommend setting automatic app updates on your devices to ensure you are always up to date with the latest features. The latest app versions can be found here along with details of the minimum device operating systems required here.

If your child is using a PC, Chrome book or laptop at home, you cannot download the apps but should instead use our browser versions (which perform with the same functionality as our apps) via the links below. We recommend using a Chrome or Edge browser.

3. Getting Started

Logging into apps

Your child is now ready to log in to the apps! and start answering questions 🎉

There are two login options to choose from:

  1. Student login- using the username and password as populated at the time of account creation. We recommend this option if you would like your child to log in each time they use Doodle.

  2. Parent login- using your parent email address and password . We recommend this option if you would like your child to stay logged in to their account or if you have multiple children using Doodle at home.

More information on logging into Doodle can be found here.

Baseline Assessment

The first thing your child will need to complete is a baseline assessment.

This may sound a little scary, but we promise it's not! Through fun, interactive exercises, the baseline assessment helps Doodle understand your child's strengths and weaknesses, creating a completely personalised learning programme tailored to your child's needs. Doodle will automatically target tricky topics, fill learning gaps and consolidate your child's knowledge.

Encourage your child to work independently throughout the baseline assessment as helping them may cause the programme to become too challenging.

It is useful to note that the baseline assessment does not need to be completed all in one go.

To get started on baseline assessment your child needs to tap on the purple baseline icon located within the Learning Zone- their Doodle homepage!

Doodle's different types of exercises

Now that your child has completed their baseline assessment, here are several different types of exercises within Doodle for your child to explore. Each is designed to target a different area of their learning.

  1. X-a-day: a daily set of 5-10 personalised questions

  2. New: an introduction to a new topic

  3. Power Up: up to 15 questions on a challenging topic

  4. Assignment: extra questions set by yourself or your child

  5. Tricky: questions that your child has saved to come back to later

Our 'How to' tours - on the Parent Dashboard we have created guided tours for each page, explaining the key features on each of these pages. You can return to and watch these at any time simply by clicking on the green 'How to' button in the top left-hand corner of the page.

🌟 Once you’re all set up and your child has started using Doodle why not try…

  1. Navigating to the Analyse pages of the Parent Dashboard so you can view your child’s effort, understanding and progress in Doodle. The Parent Dashboard is an online hub where you can keep track of your child's activities in Doodle and their progress through the curriculum.

  2. Celebrating your child’s achievements 🎉 As we do through our apps, we encourage you to celebrate your child's achievements in Doodle. By celebrating with your child, they'll be motivated to keep coming back for more learning.
